MCP Remote Deployment
Deploy the DMTR MCP server for remote client access.
Overview
For remote access, deploy the DMTR MCP server with HTTP transport. Clients connect over the network instead of stdio. Use cases include shared team access, CI/CD integrations, and multi-user AI copilots. Ensure proper authentication and network security.
Hosting options
- Cloud VMs: Deploy on AWS, GCP, or Azure. Run the server as a systemd service or container. Expose via load balancer with TLS.
- Serverless: Use a serverless MCP adapter (e.g., AWS Lambda with HTTP adapter) if available. Cold starts may affect latency.
- Kubernetes: Deploy as a Deployment with a Service. Use Ingress for TLS termination. Scale horizontally for high load.
- Managed MCP: Some platforms offer managed MCP hosting; check if DMTR is supported.
Configuration
Set DMTR_API_KEY via environment (from secret manager). Use production API keys for production deployments. Configure DMTR_API_URL if using a custom API endpoint. Enable HTTP transport with --transport http --port 8080. Use reverse proxy (nginx, Caddy) for TLS and rate limiting.
Monitoring
Monitor server health (liveness/readiness probes), request latency, and error rates. Log DMTR API call duration and status codes. Set up alerts for 5xx errors and high latency. Use distributed tracing if available. Rotate logs and avoid logging sensitive data (API keys, PII).
