Collateral and Lending
Collateral-ready positions, pledge workflow, encumbrance management, partner integration.
Overview
DMTR supports collateral and lending workflows: identifying collateral-ready positions, pledging positions as collateral, managing encumbrances, and integrating with lending partners. This document describes the design and capabilities; implementation details are subject to change.
Collateral-ready positions
Positions may be marked or evaluated for collateral eligibility. Factors include transferability, encumbrances, consent requirements, and lender acceptance. Use the API to query collateral-ready positions and retrieve eligibility metadata. Eligibility rules are configurable per lender or program.
Pledge workflow
The pledge workflow allows a position holder to pledge a position as collateral. Create a pledge intent, obtain required consents if any, and execute the pledge. The registry records the encumbrance. Reverse the pledge when the loan is repaid or the collateral is released.
Encumbrance management
Encumbrances represent liens, pledges, or other claims on a position. Track encumbrance type, counterparty, amount, and status. Encumbrances affect transferability and collateral availability. Use the encumbrance API to create, update, and release encumbrances. See Encumbrances for concepts.
Partner integration
Lending partners may integrate via API to query collateral eligibility, receive pledge notifications, and sync encumbrance state. Partner-specific configurations and SLAs are documented separately. Coordinate with your lending partner for integration requirements.
