Implement Intent Capture

IOI creation, routing, matching, fill confirmation, post-fill settlement.

Overview

Intent capture is the flow from Indication of Interest (IOI) through routing, matching, fill confirmation, and post-fill settlement. This guide describes how to implement each stage using the DMTR Intent API and related services.

IOI creation

Create IOIs via POST /intents/ioi with position reference, quantity/percentage, and terms. Validate position eligibility and transferability before creation. IOIs are immutable; create new IOIs for revised terms. Use idempotency keys for duplicate prevention.

Routing

Route IOIs to matching venues, internal desks, or counterparties based on rules. Configure routing logic via API or dashboard. Factors may include vehicle class, size, transfer restrictions, and counterparty preferences. Track routing decisions for audit and analytics.

Matching

Match IOIs with compatible counterparties or orders. Matching may be automated (order book, algo) or manual (desk review). When a match is found, the system creates a matched intent or trade record. Matching logic and eligibility are configurable.

Fill confirmation

Confirm fills via API when a transfer executes. Update intent status to filled and record fill details (price, quantity, timestamp). Notify counterparties and downstream systems. Fill confirmation triggers registry updates and settlement workflows.

Post-fill settlement

After fill confirmation, settlement proceeds: registry updates ownership, custody systems may be notified, and financial settlement occurs. Integrate with your settlement pipeline. DMTR provides registry and workflow state; coordinate with custody and fund admin for end-to-end settlement.
