Lifecycle Servicing

Recording marks, processing distributions, corporate actions, consent management, K-1 artifact tracking.

Overview

Position lifecycle servicing covers ongoing operations: recording marks, processing distributions, handling corporate actions, managing consent, and tracking K-1 artifacts. This guide describes how to integrate these workflows with the DMTR API.

Recording marks

Submit valuation marks via the API to update valuation.current_mark on positions. Marks may be position-level or batch. Include effective date, value, currency, and source. The system validates and applies marks; use webhooks or polling to confirm updates.

Processing distributions

When distributions occur, record them via the distributions API. Link to the position and distribution event. Track capital vs income, timing, and amounts. Integrate with fund admin or internal systems for reconciliation. Distribution history supports reporting and tax workflows.

Corporate actions

Corporate actions (splits, mergers, conversions) affect position structure. Use the corporate actions API to submit events and receive updated position data. The registry reflects new terms, quantities, or entity mappings. Coordinate with document updates and compliance checks.

Manage consent requests for transfers, amendments, and other actions. Create consent requests, track party responses, and handle approvals or rejections. Consent state is part of the Rights Engine; use it to gate transfer execution and other workflows.

K-1 artifact tracking

Track K-1 and other tax document artifacts per position or entity. Record when documents are available, link to storage or delivery, and support investor reporting. Integrate with tax preparation systems as needed.
