Inventory
Structurally decomposable supply: what inventory means in DMTR, Megalith-originated inventory, structural decomposability, and portfolio composition.
Overview
Inventory in DMTR refers to structurally decomposable supply—positions that can be subdivided and offered as smaller units. Inventory enables fractional allocation, secondary liquidity, and portfolio composition from larger blocks. Not all positions are inventory; only decomposable ones.
What inventory means in DMTR
Inventory is supply that is available for allocation or transfer in fractional form. It is derived from positions that are decomposable and in an inventory-eligible state. Inventory is surfaced through Workflow Surfaces (API, partner integrations) for discovery and execution.
Megalith-originated inventory
Megalith-originated inventory is supply sourced through the Megalith platform—a Dark Matter ecosystem component for deal origination and SPV formation. Megalith positions are typically decomposable and flow into DMTR as inventory. They follow standard Position Object schema and lifecycle.
Structural decomposability
Inventory requires structural decomposability: the position must be splittable at the vehicle layer. See Decomposability for details. Non-decomposable positions cannot be inventory; they transfer whole or not at all.
Inventory surfacing
Inventory is surfaced via search, list, and filter APIs. Queries can target inventory-eligible positions, available units, and transferability. Surfacing supports discovery workflows: users find supply before expressing intent or executing.
curl -X GET "https://api.dmtr.ai/v1/positions?inventory=true&available_units_gte=1" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $DMTR_API_KEY"Portfolio composition from inventory
Portfolios can be composed from inventory: multiple fractional allocations from different positions combine into a single portfolio view. Composition is a logical aggregation; each underlying position remains a distinct Position Object. Composition supports reporting and rebalancing.
