Installation

Development installation

The extension is built with Vite and lives at packages/extension/ in the monorepo.

Build the extension

cd packages/extension
pnpm build

This produces a dist/ directory containing the compiled extension.

Load in Chrome

1. Open chrome://extensions/ in Chrome
2. Enable Developer mode (toggle in top right)
3. Click Load unpacked
4. Select the packages/extension/dist/ directory
5. The DMTR extension icon appears in the toolbar

Development mode

For live rebuilding during development:

pnpm dev

This runs vite build --watch, recompiling on file changes. You'll need to click the reload button on chrome://extensions/ after each rebuild.

Prerequisites

• The DMTR API must be running at http://localhost:3100 (the extension's default API URL)
• Start the API with pnpm dev from the monorepo root, or pnpm start from packages/api/
• The API seeds Blackmoat intelligence data automatically on startup

Chrome Web Store

The extension is not yet published to the Chrome Web Store. Distribution is developer-mode only during this sprint.
