Side Panel
The DMTR extension side panel with Know, Own, and Signal tabs for private market intelligence.
Overview
The side panel is a React application rendered in Chrome's side panel API. It displays intelligence enrichment for entities detected on the current page. The panel implements the three-layer architecture from the contributed data flywheel design: Know (free intelligence), Own (personal portfolio), and Signal (collective market signals).
Opening the panel
Click the DMTR extension icon in the Chrome toolbar. The side panel opens alongside the current page. On supported sites where an entity is detected, the panel automatically fetches enrichment data.
Know tab (Layer 1 — implemented)
The Know tab is the primary interface. When an entity is detected and resolved, the tab displays:
Entity header — company name, type badge, headquarters, founded year. If the entity is linked to DMTR positions via the entity crosswalk, a transferability badge appears (green/amber/red).
Key metrics — latest valuation, total raised, headcount, revenue ARR. Sourced from Blackmoat intelligence snapshots via /v1/intelligence/enrich/:slug.
Transaction history — recent funding rounds and secondary transactions. Each row shows round name, lead investor, amount, and date.
Key people — founders, executives, and key investors associated with the entity. Resolved via the employment graph in the intelligence database.
Tags — sector, technology, and thematic tags from the Blackmoat corpus.
Own tab (Layer 2 — placeholder)
The Own tab is a locked placeholder. It will eventually show:
- Portfolio positions linked to the current entity
- NAV marks and cost basis
- Transfer eligibility and restriction details
- Deal tracker and relationship graph
Requires a DMTR account and portfolio connection (not yet implemented).
Signal tab (Layer 3 — placeholder)
The Signal tab is a locked placeholder. It will eventually show:
- Aggregated market signals from the DMTR practitioner network
- Sentiment trends and deal flow velocity
- Competitive intelligence
Requires data contribution and opt-in (not yet implemented).
