Cambridge Associates Integration

Cambridge Associates integration for Dark Matter position enrichment and institutional data.

Overview

The Cambridge Associates integration will connect Dark Matter to Cambridge Associates data for position enrichment and entity lookup in institutional investment contexts. This document describes the planned integration specification. Capabilities, prerequisites, and implementation details are subject to change as the specification is finalized. Contact the integrations team for roadmap and availability.

Capabilities

Capabilities (planned) include institutional data enrichment (benchmark, manager, and fund data from Cambridge Associates), entity lookup (resolving Cambridge Associates entities to Dark Matter registry participants), and position overlay for institutional portfolio views. The specification may evolve to include additional capabilities based on partner feedback and Cambridge Associates API availability. Capability levels will be defined in a future revision.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites (planned) include a Cambridge Associates subscription with API access, DMTR API credentials with research platform scopes, and network connectivity. Specific Cambridge Associates product requirements will be documented when the integration is finalized. Contact Cambridge Associates and Dark Matter representatives for early access or pilot participation.

Permissions and scopes

Permissions and scopes (planned) will follow the research platform pattern: positions:read, registry:read, research:enrich. Additional scopes may be required for institutional-specific data. Scope definitions will be finalized in the specification. Request early access via the integrations team.

Setup

Setup procedures will be documented when the integration is released. The specification anticipates a setup wizard similar to other research platform integrations. Configuration will include Cambridge Associates API credentials, entity mapping, and optional overlay settings. Sandbox support is planned for development and testing.

Supported workflows

Supported workflows (planned) include position lookup from Cambridge Associates portfolio views, bulk enrichment of positions with Cambridge Associates data, and entity resolution for institutional investors. Workflow support depends on Cambridge Associates API capabilities and Dark Matter product roadmap. Unsupported workflows will be documented at release.

Data model mapping

Data model mapping (planned) will define how Cambridge Associates entities (manager ID, fund ID, benchmark ID) map to Dark Matter Position and Participant objects. Cambridge Associates institutional schema may require custom handling for fund structures and benchmark mappings. Mapping specification will be published with the integration release.

Security

Security requirements will follow Dark Matter standards: credential storage in secrets manager, TLS for API calls, compliance with Cambridge Associates data use terms. Additional requirements may apply for institutional data sensitivity. Security review will be completed before release.

Limitations

Limitations will be documented at release. Anticipated limitations include Cambridge Associates API rate limits, data latency, and product-specific restrictions. The specification may be updated as limitations are clarified.

Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting procedures will be documented at release. Common issues will be identified during pilot and beta phases. Support channels and escalation paths will follow the standard Dark Matter integration support model.

Reference

Reference documentation will be published when the integration is released. Links to Cambridge Associates API documentation and Dark Matter integration guides will be provided. The specification will be versioned; check for updates before implementation.
