Positions Resource

position:// URI scheme for fetching position data via MCP.

Overview

The position:// resource exposes DMTR position data to MCP clients. Positions represent ownership interests in private market securities (e.g., fund interests, SPV shares). The resource is read-only; clients fetch positions by ID or via query parameters. The LLM can use this data to answer questions about holdings, transferability, and encumbrances.

URI format

position://[position_id]
position://?portfolio_id=...&limit=...&cursor=...

Without a path, the resource lists positions filtered by query parameters. With a position ID in the path, it returns a single position. The base URI is position://; the host is omitted in MCP resource URIs.

Query parameters

ParameterTypeDescription
ownerstringFilter by owner participant ID
statusstringFilter by position status (active, encumbered, etc.)
vehicle_classstringFilter by vehicle class (fund_lp, doiv_membership_interest, etc.)
limitnumberMax results (default 50, max 100)
cursorstringPagination cursor from previous response
transferablebooleanFilter by transferability status

All parameters are optional. Omit filters to list all positions the API key can access.

Response format

The resource returns JSON. For a single position: the full Position Object (entity_id, owner, status, asset with issuer/vehicle_class/underlying, transfer, compliance, valuation, encumbrances, tokenization, etc.). For a list: { "data": [...], "next_cursor": "..." }. The schema matches the Position type from @dmtr/core.

Examples

  • position://?owner=part-allocator-001&limit=10 — List positions for a participant
  • position://?vehicle_class=doiv_membership_interest&transferable=true — List transferable DOIV membership interests
